My name is Flo Ankah (born Florence Annequin), thank you for taking the time to discover my healing arts universe on this website. My purpose is to empower you to reach your highest potential through sessions and classes. I have such gratitude to be trusted with your adventure, allowing me to witness as you unfold your creativity, and expand into the multi-dimensional being that you are.
What is it?
ThetaHealing® described by its founder Vianna Stibal as a philosophy for physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. I like to think of it as a psycho-energetic technique, or a holistic therapy. There are 500 000 practitioners worldwide in over 50 countries. A direct application of quantum physics, the act of observing with focused thought during a deep meditation allows a transformation in the energetic field and the DNA of the cells. With ThetaHealing, you learn how to heal yourself and others, work with your subconscious patterns, and see the world in terms of energy that you can shift. Becoming the conscious author of your reality, you are able to activate your personal potential and attract experiences and relationships in alignment with your personal goals and life purpose.
Slice of my story:
I was born in the South of France, close to nature and curious about artistic expression even though I grew up in a rural area. My father has a dairy farm and gave me his sense of values, his authenticity; my mother studied medicine, astrology, and shared with me her exploration of natural healing techniques and thirst for self-knowledge. I moved to New York City at seventeen after obtaining my science and biology baccalaureate. I wanted to study everything (and still do), but I chose dance—performance, because it seemed the most challenging, to live a life where tomorrow is unknown, work with my heart and body instead of just accomplishing goals. Along the path I obtained my green card as an actress, graduated from Merce Cunningham in modern dance, and in improvisation comedy from Upright Citizens Brigade. I created solo musical performances for Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater and Feinstein’s/54 Below, received awards for my art house films, did a lot of fancy voiceover work, and became a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Television Academy… blah-blah-blah. I also failed miserably a couple of times.
Basically I’m high on Creativity.
At an early age I had wonder towards spirituality. Got a book from my grandpa’s best friend who was a priest about parables of all cultures, and another one about Théo traveling the world and discovering religions from the perspective of a child. In 2005 I started my study of yin yoga and prayanama with my mentor Amber Wilson, which is the foundation of how I perceive spiritual expansion, a life-long process. Around the same time, I took my first ThetaHealing classes with Eric Brumett and Vianna Stibal, and was intrigued by the fact that change could be rapid… instantaneous actually. I attended a few Vipasana retreats with the awesome Bhante Rahula, and receive Darshan whenever Amma comes to town. It was a personal process for me, but after performing at the legendary Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles in a musical about enlightenment “Loving the Silent Tears,” I realized I didn’t need to be guarded or separate my life as a performer and my spirituality. That I could simply be – all of me.
