The goal of this workshop is to explore and expand your personal work, charisma, and marketing. Within the group, we will devise an etiquette for constructive feedback, bringing light to what resonates with another, and continue to ask questions so you may refine your vision, widen your vocabulary, and have clarity of where you are at and where you want to go next. The emphasis is on the process and you can ask to be given an assignment if you are not sure what to present to the group.
In the community lab, we will start with a physical and vocal warm-up to bring your consciousness to a state of creative flow. Each week you make discoveries through meditation and writing exercises and receive a weekly lecture (with downloads and beliefs to test for those acquainted with ThetaHealing). You will be given partners so you may expand your collaborations outside of the classroom.
Limited to 12 participants.
We start the Body-Voice Lab with a physical and vocal warm up. Fusing movement and sound we explore how to find personality in the core of movement, in order to better handle the energy and space around you.
When you are in touch with all of who you are as an instrument, you experience charisma, towards an efficient way to present your work – aware of how you express yourself physically, vocally and emotionally.
“Flo Ankah’s technique, “body-voice: creative instrument™” is used by the singers of Melodia Women’s Choir in New York City before each rehearsal. By combining movement and voice in her very unique way, she has given us a strong technical basis for promoting vocal health, for enhancing stage presence, and for authentically conveying the meaning of the music.”–Cynthia Powell, conductor
“I enjoyed taking Flo’s group class. It was a nice way to meet new people and learn about her theory. I liked using sound and movement together, in a way that I wouldn’t ordinarily, to experience a new way of experiencing my body. Highly recommended! Thank you!” —April Dolan, painter
“I’m always looking for ways to expand my training. Flo integrates exercises to free the voice in a supported and dynamic manner. Then with it, she combines challenging creative movement work. I walk away from her class feeling strengthened and having discovered a new approach to my instrument. Her enthusiasm, training and adjustments are spot-on.” —Tom Cleary, actor
“Why didn’t anyone come up with this before? It challenges your deepest emotions and sets you free. Amazing!” —David V. Koenig, lawyer
“Flo Ankah uses an exciting and fun way to improve speaking and body language. There was definitely an improvement in the way I project my voice – and that was after my first session. Anyone, even those who consider themselves good speakers, will benefit from this workshop.” —Rod N.
“In Flo Ankah you will find a teacher who deepens your understanding of your own body and voice. Her workshops are a way to keep in touch with the skills of a performer and will simultaneously inspire you to continue exploring your technique. She reminds you not to accept the limitations you put on yourself and to freely explore the potential of your own body.” —Aoife Courtney, actress
